Lawtopolis is a legal education platform. We make the law readable from the source: the rule text, how courts apply it and the procedure around it.
Most people meet the legal system at a stressful moment, with little idea how it works. Lawtopolis explains it in plain language without cutting corners on accuracy: every page starts from the rule, statute or court decision itself and links to the official text, so you can check it yourself.
When you need more than information, our directory helps you find attorneys and legal professionals — with attorney licenses checked against the official regulator before a “verified” badge appears.
Lessons, motion and procedure guides, a research center, courses and blank templates — all grounded in primary sources.
We do not give legal advice, tell anyone what to file, or create attorney-client relationships. For advice about your situation, talk to a licensed attorney.
Every legal statement traces to the official text.
We explain the law; we do not argue your case.
Verified means verified. Draft means draft. Paid placements are labeled.
Profiles are private by default. We never publish what you read or buy.
Anyone who wants to understand how the legal system really works.
Structured courses and source-linked study material.
Know the vocabulary, the stages and the questions to ask.
Reach people who are learning their options.
People meet the legal system at stressful moments. Often they find answers that are vague, outdated or simply wrong. So we built a legal education platform that starts with primary law and shows its work.
Every page follows the same method. First, we find the governing rule, statute or decision. Next, we summarize what it actually says, in short sentences. Then we link to the official source and record the date we checked it. If the law changes, we update the page and note the change.
We also run a directory of attorneys and legal professionals. However, a listing is never a recommendation. Attorneys earn a verified badge only after we confirm their license with the official regulator, and we recheck it on a schedule.
Above all, Lawtopolis is not a law firm. We do not give legal advice, and using the site does not create an attorney-client relationship. For federal rules, you can always go straight to the current federal court rules.
