These provider guidelines set the rules for every attorney and legal service provider listing on Lawtopolis.
Licensed attorneys and legal service providers such as paralegals, legal document preparers, process servers, notaries, mediators, court reporters, investigators, researchers and interpreters. You must hold any license or registration your state requires for your service.
Each payment buys a fixed term. Listings do not renew automatically. Listings go live after editor review and, for attorneys, license verification. We may suspend listings that break these guidelines.
These provider guidelines apply to every listing. First, describe your services honestly and clearly. If you are not an attorney, your listing must say so, and you must not offer legal advice unless your own license allows it.
Next, profiles can start in two ways. You can submit your own listing, or a member of the public can add your profile. Profiles added by the public stay unclaimed, with only basic facts, until you claim them. To claim one, you pass our verification check and pay for a listing term.
In addition, reviews must reflect real experiences. You may reply to reviews, but you may not buy, trade or pressure anyone for them.
Finally, we may suspend a listing that breaks these provider guidelines. Clients can confirm attorney licenses through the list of state bar directories.

Lawtopolis provides legal information and education, not legal advice. Using this site does not create an attorney-client relationship. Laws and court rules vary by jurisdiction and change over time; verify every authority against the official source and consult a licensed attorney in your jurisdiction about your situation.
