Overview
How our directory of legal professionals works
The directory lists attorneys, law firms and other legal professionals, such as paralegals, process servers and mediators. Each profile shows its type clearly, so you always know whether someone is a lawyer.
Anyone can add a profile. First, an editor reviews it. Then it goes live as an unclaimed profile with basic public facts. However, nobody can manage an unclaimed profile. To take it over, the professional must claim it, pass our verification check and pay for a listing term.
For attorneys, verification means we confirmed the license with the state bar or court that issued it, and we recheck it on a schedule. Even so, you can confirm a license yourself through the list of state bar directories.
Finally, a listing is not a recommendation. Reviews come only from members, and payment never buys a rating.
Profiles show the practice areas, location and contact details the professional provides. In addition, members can leave reviews after real experiences, and professionals can reply in public.
If you find a mistake on a profile, use the report link on the profile itself. Our team reviews every report and can correct, suspend or remove a listing that breaks our provider guidelines.
